CENTRAL VALLEY ASSEMBLYMAN BILL BERRYHILL ENDORSES ROCKY CHAVEZ
STOCKTON, CA—Assemblyman Bill Berryhill today endorsed Rocky Chavez for California Assembly, District 76. Berryhill is a Republican, representing the state’s 26th Assembly District.
Berryhill, whose long record of public service includes more than ten years as a member of the Ceres Unified School District Board of Trustees, said he admired Chavez’s strong position on education.
“I support Rocky Chavez because he believes that education matters,” said Berryhill. “I’ve spent 11 years on the Ceres Unified School Board working to transform our education system, and I know Rocky will continue the fight for our children’s futures in the State Assembly.”
In addition to his work in education reform, Berryhill has deep roots in agriculture. For more than thirty years Berryhill has farmed wine grapes in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties and operated successful grape harvesting businesses, including BB Vineyards which he founded in 1978.
Berryhill currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Assembly’s Business, Professions and Consumer Protection committee. He also serves on committees focused on education and agriculture. Berryhill’s district includes the cities of Stockton, Turlock, Manteca, Ceres, Modesto, Patterson, Ripon and Escalon
“Bill Berryhill is a leader in education, and I’m proud to have his support,” said Chavez. “We must reform our education system in California so our graduates can compete in the global marketplace.”
Chavez is seeking to represent the 76th California Assembly District, which includes the cities of Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad and Encinitas. The Chavez campaign is focusing on jobs and the economy, education, veterans, and government efficiency. Chavez served as a Marine for more than twenty-eight years, retiring as a colonel. He then went on to serve nearly a decade on the Oceanside City Council before leading the Department of Veterans Affairs.
